Best Practice: Load this Tag on all pages of your site.
Set up Data Mappings
Mapping is the simple process of sending data from a data source, in your Data Layer, to the matching destination variable of the vendor Tag. The destination variables for this Tag are available in the Mapping toolbox.
For instructions on how to map to a Tag’s destination, see Mapping Data Sources article.
Before You Begin, we recommend setting up the E-Commerce Extension for this Tag. The Extension, if configured, automatically sends the necessary product and order details to the appropriate Tag destinations. Mapping to Pagetype “t”
Rocket Fuel has predefined the values to be sent for certain page types, as listed in the table below. You will set those values in a data source before mapping it to the t
destination.
Page Type | Value |
---|---|
Product View | view |
Cart/Checkout | cv |
Home | home |
Search Results | srp |
Category | cat |
“Order Confirmation” and “Other” page types do NOT have predefined values.
Here’s how to set the data source:
- Add a new Set Data Value Extension in your profile and scope it to this Tag.
- From the Set drop-down list, select (or add) a Data Source whose value you wish to send.
- Keep the To dropdown set to Text. Enter the predefined value you wish to send.
- Click Add Condition and define the evaluating conditions that determine when to set the Data Source.
- Repeat for every page type that you wish to send. Then proceed to map the data source in the Mapping Toolbox.
