Floodlight Tag Setup Guide
This article shows how to set up the Floodlight tag in your Tealium iQ Tag Management account. The Floodlight tag was previously marketed as “DoubleClick Floodlight”.
Google recommends migrating to the Google global site tag by implementing the Floodlight tag.
Tag configuration
Navigate to the Tag Marketplace to add a new tag. Read the Tag Overview article for general instructions on how to add a tag.
When adding the tag, configure the following settings:
- Title (Required)
Enter a descriptive title to identify the Tag instance. - Advertiser ID (Required)
This is the ID of the source advertiser that is tracking the Floodlight activity. Enter the value of “src” key in this field. - Type (Optional)
Enter the 8-character string that identifies the group/type of Floodlight activity. - Category (Optional)
Enter the 8-character string that identifies the Floodlight activity being tracked. - Counter Type (Optional)
Click the drop-down list and set the method to count the frequency at which the Floodlight activity occurs. By default, this is set to the “Standard” method.
All counting methods are automatically lowercased.
- Standard: This will count each visit to the Floodlight-enabled web page as a separate activity.
- Unique: This will count the number of conversions by unique users within a 24-hour period.
- Per Session: This will count only one Floodlight activity per browser session.
Place this tag at the top of the list in the Tags tab to give it a higher priority than other tags.
Load rules
Load the tag on all pages or set conditions for when your tag will load. For more information about load rules, see the Load Rules documentation.
